Our First Day

We slept and recovered for most of Saturday morning, but we also got acquainted with many of the workers in the YWCA hostel. There are many familiar and fun-loving faces we shared Christ with throughout today.
Galatians 5:16,22-23 So I say, live by the SPirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Our devotion and meditation for the day.
In the afternoon, we went to the orphanage and prayed over, shared with, and watched the children. They are enthusiastic and wonderfully joy-filled. Alan shared the Gospel news with them and we performed a few skits. They danced for us - beautiful lively dances. The girls wore long dresses and bright colors and made themselves look like princesses. The goys had great, athletic dances.
God has blessed us so much to be down here when he gave us the privilege to tell tehse kids that Jesus is their and our Lord, as well as telling them that everyone at St. John's is caring and praying for them!
We have a big day tomorrow, so I'll sign off and get some rest. Thank you for your prayers! |

Thank you team for the updates. We are praying with you and are excited to hear about everything. We thank the Lord for the luggage arrival and the warm welcome, both in weather and more importantly among the people. Do not forget the Lord's Word never returns empty. It will accomplish what He intends. Your witness, spoken and lived out in action, shines like the stars in the sky... We'll be talking of you in worship tomorrow and remembering you as we look into the heavens and see the shining stars.
Finally, we continue to experience flurries and lots of celebrating. The Packers won big today.
The Lord is blessing you and many through you...
Pastor Jeff

Ha! I'm so glad your luggage made it to you this year. We prayed in church for you all by name today! I know you are going to be a great blessing to many that you spend time with while you are there, and that God is going to bless you greatly through this experience. Please hug the children for me, and don't forget about those lovely caregivers in the orphanages, they are blessed by your hugs too!! Continuing to lift you up in prayer, Wendy

On the eve of your departure, our family gathered and lifted you up in prayer. We are so thankful for the work you are doing in sharing the love of Jesus with the people of India. KC prayed for the witnessing that you will do with the men of India, Kara and Savannah prayed for the children in the orphanage, and I prayed for all the people that you will meet along the way, that their hearts may be open to hearing the gospel. Kara was very excited about the bible verses they prepared in school. We continue to keep you in our prayers and send you hugs from us! In His Grip, Debbie, KC, Savannah, and Kara

We are praying for your joy. In the lessons in Church today James reminds us that true religion is when we look after widows and orphans in their distress. So you are God's angels sent to herald the grace of God in Jesus Christ. This is good news for every Hindu, Muslim and especially for the kids who know of their Heavenly Father.
May your joy be increased with each moment. Don't let the monkeys on the Kodai hills steal your snacks.
Micah, the Packers won big. We love you.

Deanna and team, You're in my prayers many times daily. I try to calculate time change and pray accordingly for your needs. Abby hopes to return to India one day. We look forward to hearing how God is working, both in you and the people you are in contact with. Your arms are His hugs, your smiles share His light, your voices share His words, your hearts overflow with His love. God Bless you all. Mama G P.S. Wish I were with you!
