An interesting incident

An interesting incident took place today as we visited the shrine at the Mount of St. Thomas. We had decided to have our daily team devotional time there, but the authorities didn't like our worshiping there at a Christian site. A rather large croud of Indian people gathered around us to hear our message, and they followed us to our new location. They must have been wondering what was so important about our message. Bishop John was with us and argued some with the authorities, but we think it just served to get the word out.

Over the years of our family's missionary work, the governmental authorities became rather hostile especially during the communistic solialism movements of the early 60's. Since India is such a spiritual people (albeit pagan) there are some high passions and zealousness abounding. May our True God place a shield around you as you witness through the love you show to
others. We are praying that hearts will be touched and the children strengthened. Bishop John is a sanctified leaders indeed. We love you all and continue to bless our son Micah.

Everytime I think of you, I pray for you. This blog is just great and all of us back home are grateful for being able to communicate with you like this. We prayed for all of you in church on Sunday. I put all of your names in the readings and was so filled with joy when I heard Vicar Rob read each of your names in prayer. I can't wait for more God stories! My passage for you is from 2 Corinthians: "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life." You are all sweet-smelling roses to orphans, widows, to those who know Christ and to those who don't. God grant you glorious moments of witnessing His love and restful moments to be in His Word.

Hey team!!!

I want you to know that I am continuing to pray for all of you!! I pray that God would be using you all in an effective way and that He would be glorified in everything you do! verse to think about: 1 tim. 1:15-16 ... "
"Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ came into the world to save sinners - of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life."

Keep truckin team! God is going to use you in big ways!!!

much love and prayers,
dave ficken
