Each of St. John’s present ministry activities has been placed under only one purpose based upon its primary expression, aware that most activities have a secondary purpose.
1.
Missions/Evangelism: “Go and make disciples …”. The church exists to communicate God’s Word. We are ambassadors for Christ, and our mission is to evangelize the world.

2. Education: “Teaching them to obey”. The church exists to edify, and/or educate, the people of God. Discipleship is the process of helping people mature, becoming more like Christ in their thoughts, feelings, and actions. As the church we are called not only to reach people, but also, to teach people.

3. Service/Administration: “To prepare God’s people for works of service” (Eph. 4:12). The church exists as God’s representative in the world. “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Col. 3:17).

4. Fellowship/Care: “ ...you are … fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household” (Eph. 2:19). The church exists to provide fellowship for believers. As Christians we are called to belong, as well as believe. We are not alone. God brings His support to us through others.

5. Worship: “Love the Lord with all your heart.” The church exists to worship God. We express our love for God by worshipping Him.
