Join the St. John’s family at the April 28th Voters’ Meeting at 12:15 PM in the lower level of the church. We will have Ministry updates, as well as prayerful determination to extend a divine call to Pastor Brian Lee to serve as St. John’s Connection Pastor.
The Lee Family
Pastor Brian & Diane count themselves immeasurably blessed to be called children of our Heavenly Father. They love being married and have been blessed with three children, Madelyn (7), Caleb (5), and a little girl coming in June.
Both Pastor Brian and Diane were born and raised out West, blessed with Christian parents, and aspire to live their lives and lead their family centered upon the grace of Jesus. They have been a part of congregations in Thunder Bay, Ontario and Algonquin, Illinois after leaving St. Louis, where Pastor Brian attended Concordia Seminary.
Pastor Brian and Diane both graduated from Concordia Nebraska and Diane has degrees in Music and Music Education but has chosen to invest her time at home during this season of life. They enjoy the outdoors and spending family time exploring their community.
Pastor Dave and his many years of faithful ministry!
Pastor Dave is retiring at the end of the month. His last sermon will be the last weekend of April (Saturday, April 27th, Sunday, April 28th, and Wednesday, May 1st).
Pastor Dave will be greeting people as they come into and leave church that weekend. We will also have a gift table and card box located in the Gathering Space for you to drop off gifts for Pastor Dave and Jane.
In addition, St. John’s is invited to a retirement celebration and dinner on Saturday, May 11th. You must RSVP for this event by May 5th as seating is limited.
The celebrations will take place from 4:00pm-7:00pm in the Lower Level of St. John’s. This will include a time of fellowship and socializing (4:00-5:00), a meal (5:00-6:00), and a special program to honor the Lord’s work in and through Pastor Dave’s life (6:00-7:00).
If you wish to attend this event, please RSVP here or by calling the church office (262-334-4901). Again, seating is limited, so please RSVP by May 5th.
Whether you choose to greet Pastor Dave and leave a card or gift the weekend of April 28th or to attend the dinner on May 11th, would you please consider writing Pastor Dave and Jane a note of appreciation and encouragement? St. John’s would like to present them with a “book” full of letters of thanks and appreciation, special memories from life and ministry, and words of encouragement and prayers from the people who love them.
If you are able to write a letter, it can be handwritten or printed on 8.5×11 stationary or copy paper. You can drop the letter off at the church office, scan and emailed to email@example.com, or mail it to the attention of Rachel Morton at St. John’s (809 S. 6th Avenue, West Bend, WI 5309).
To God be the glory for faithful servants of Christ like Pastor Dave!
As Christ anticipated His ministry on earth coming to an end, He explained to His disciples that they would no longer see Him, and then would see Him again. The disciples did not understand what Jesus meant by this. They wanted to remain with Jesus. Then, Christ died. But as He promised on the third day, He rose again!
Christ kept His promise. The disciples did see Him again. Christ defeated death through the resurrection and revealed Himself to His disciples. As He promised, their sorrow turned to joy.
As we continue to wait for Christ’s return and the promise of a new heaven and a new earth, we, too, find joy in Christ’s promise.
Pastor Kellerman is preaching his final sermon this week, and we celebrate the many years he has been called to minister in Christ’s church. He reminds us of God’s continual promise: “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life” (Revelation 2:10). His ministry will continue beyond His retirement as God’s will be done in His life. God has amazing plans for Pastor Kellerman, and we pray that he will be blessed in His next chapter of life in Christ.
