Our Leadership Board, at the August 26th meeting, voted unanimously in favor of two important steps for our St. John’s family: continue the search for a Connection Pastor and begin the search for a School Administrator. The work started at the meeting as the Leadership Board earnestly prayed for the Lord’s guidance, wisdom, and care for St. John’s and the steps ahead.
A list of pastoral candidates has been requested from the District office. It will arrive over the next week. You may have suggestions for candidates. Please contact the church office with any names of pastors you believe may be good candidates for the Connection Pastor position by September 21. Also, please follow the example of the Leadership Board: Pray. You may find it helpful to download the position description. If so, click here.
Our prayers will also include the search for a new St. John’s Lutheran School Administrator. Mrs. Oldenettel, whose extraordinary leadership has given our school a phenomenal reputation, has asked to be relieved of her duties at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. She plans to retire in order to increase her availability to serve in the vocation of wife. Once again, your prayers of thanksgiving and petitions for wisdom and care are valued! Thank you for praying. You may also have suggestions for School Administrator. Please contact the church office with those names as well. Contact has been made with the District office who will be partnering with us in the search.
You may have questions. Your Leadership Board, as well as your pastors, stand by ready to meet with you. In fact, special meetings for Q & A are scheduled for the following dates and times. The meetings will take place based upon interest shown (e.g. sign-ups). Please call the church office or use this link to sign up for one of the following times:
Sunday, September 8, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Thursday, September 12, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Sunday, September 15, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
The Lord has much to accomplish in West Bend and the surrounding communities. He continues to shower blessings, resources, and opportunities upon His family called St. John’s. It’s a great time to “Connect, Care, and Share in Christ.” One of our Leadership Board members said it well at the August 26th meeting, “GPSS! We’ve grieved, we’ve prayed, we’ve stepped back, and now it’s time to STEP FORWARD.” In the spirit of that statement and on behalf of your Leadership Board and pastors, we thank you for your prayerful support, your questions, and your commitment to “Discipleship in as many places as possible.”
Rich Buss, Leadership Board President
Jeff Dorth, Senior Pastor
