His Will is What’s Best

Craig Toerpe:

Dear Family of St. John’s,

Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. These comforting words from the book of Jeremiah I shared with all of you 2 weeks ago when I shared with the congregation a Divine Call to serve as a Gift Planning Counselor for the LCMS Foundation. As Leah, my family and I have been in constant prayer discerning what the Lord’s Will is for my work here at St. John’s and within the larger Church, I am requesting a peaceful release from my Divine Call as Director of Stewardship of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and her supporting ministries.

It has truly been a great joy to have served as your Director of Stewardship since January of 2010. You have welcomed and supported Leah, myself and my family with open arms and allowed me to not only develop a Stewardship ministry, but support and strengthen other ministries across our campus. Thank you for the privilege of serving alongside St. John’s and for your patience as I grew and matured during our time together. What is exciting for me in my new role although I will no longer be serving St. John’s exclusively as Director of Stewardship, I will be available to assist, serve and grow the ministry of estate planning.

This period of transition is made so much easier knowing that our family will remain members of St. John ‘s where we will continue to be fed richly with the Lord’s gifts of Word and Sacrament.

Thank you again for all that you are and have done for me and the Toerpe Family.

In His Service,

Craig

Hannah Pehl:

Hello St. John’s Families,

First and foremost, my family would like thank you for the outpouring of love and support we have received in the last week. We have been incredibly blessed to be part of this community for the past six years. So many great memories, experiences and friendships have been made during our time here, and we will value and cherish them forever.

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to let you know that I am accepting my call to Trinity Lutheran in Waconia, Minnesota. I have been called to teach first grade for the next school year. We plan to move officially in mid-June to allow enough time to settle into the new community and congregation. We continue to ask for prayers as we prepare and plan for this move.

This decisions was made with much prayerful council, time in His word, and a lot of trust. His will is what’s best even if it’s not exactly what we plan or expect. We are excited to see God lead us into more opportunities to disciple in as many places as possible.

Thank you again for your prayers!

In His service,

Hannah Pehl
