Glory's Road
The Transfiguration displays the glory of the Lord, the full glory of Jesus Christ. The disciples don't understand but they witness it and experience it and spend the rest of their lives worshiping, serving, and proclaiming the Glory of the Lord. The full glory of Jesus is traveling a very specific road in Mark. Here, the Father proclaims that the very glory of the Lord is standing in and walking around creation. The road the Glory of the Lord will follow is to a cross where he will suffer and die. This is the revelation of the Glory of the Lord and this too is our glory in the midst of suffering and death as we follow Jesus through Mark.
