I am humbled to receive the call to serve as your Connections Pastor. This past weekend I announced your Call to our church here in Algonquin. We are praying for the Lord’s guidance and blessing for the churches of His kingdom. I am excited to worship with you this weekend as I prayerfully deliberate the Call. I am looking forward to meeting the people of St. John’s and celebrating the Lord’s work for and among us!
This weekend, as we continue to gather and celebrate this Easter season, we also celebrate the gift of Mother’s Day. We rejoice in the love and strength of God and the way He works through mothers as His hands and feet in the world.
God meets the challenges and joys of life, of motherhood, and of being a son or daughter with the grace He shares through the death and resurrection of His Son.

Our Guest Preacher on Saturday – Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Meyer
The man in our pulpit Saturday, Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Meyer, served for twelve years as President of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, South Wisconsin District, followed with service on the Development Team for LCMS World Mission, and with service as Director of Outreach, for LCMS World Mission-National Team. He lives with his wife and ministry partner Lou Ann in New Berlin.
As a part of his ongoing volunteer ministry, Dr. Meyer serves locally on the Board of Directors for the Lutheran Urban Mission Initiative [LUMIN] in Milwaukee, on the Planning Committee for the annual retreat for retired Pastors/Wives and Widows of Wisconsin, and internationally as a member of the Caspari Advancement TF and as a Caspari Center Ambassador. The mission for the Caspari Center for Biblical and Jewish Studies is to support the growth of Jewish believers in Jesus, in Israel and worldwide, through strategic education and research. In addition, Pastor Meyer has done visitation for a couple parishes and served as he does today, as a guest preacher, in various places.
He prays that his ministry with us might be used of God to strengthen our Spirit given faith and move us to greater service for the King of kings and Savior of the world.
