More About Me

The Lord has blessed us all in many ways, as individuals and also as a congregation. No matter what challenges we face, no matter what difficulties we have, no matter what burdens we bare, we all have so much to be thankful for, so much to praise the Lord for. The first time I visited St. John's, I heard a sermon that really got my attention. Pastor Kelm had never met me or even seen me, but it seemed he was talking to me alone as he kept pointing out over and over again how wrong and sinful my attitudes were and asking who was I to replace God’s commands with man’s wants and desires. It got my attention and it hurt. It hurt because I had to admit I was guilty. The Lord used that message to open my eyes and make me think. And when I did, I found it wasn’t just the issue he had preached on, I had strayed in many ways and had adopted worldly views on abortion, creation, sin and salvation. I needed to hear more. We began attending St. John's and after several years, my wife, Kim, and I became members in 2004. Our son Kyle has been in St. John's School from pre-school to his current 5th grade level. We are thankful for the new member classes, bible studies, pastors, teachers, fellow members and school principal that have helped us grow in our faith and understanding of scripture and Lutheran doctrine. St. John’s has been a blessing to us, so it is an honor to serve our Lord and to serve you, the people of St. John's, as a member of your Leadership Board. Please remember that your Leadership Board is here to serve you and that we truly welcome your questions and input. Please do feel free to contact us.
