The weekends of Lent are a journey in and of themselves. What does a faithful journey to the cross of Jesus look like, even with our eyes in full focus of the hope of the resurrection? Is this journey still needed? What weights of life do we still carry with us? Is there hope and grace along the way?
Yes! In and through the cross of Jesus, there is no pain, no sorrow and no loss that He has not filled; no amount of loneliness or despair that He did not endure; no sickness or mistake that He did not experience. Misery, insecurity, or abandonment: there is nothing that He did not feel. For on that day, He took all the pain, all experience, and all sin upon Himself. Bearing all for us, so that we can be free.
This is what it means to be brought to the Cross: Delivered, Promised, Fulfilled, Healed, and Ransomed.
