LEADERSHIP BOARD

The Leadership Board, acting as trustee of the congregation, has the responsibility to link with the baptized membership of St. John’s Lutheran Church. We write the governing policies for organizational decisions and situations (governance, linkage, executive limitations, and ends) and assure Pastoral performance. Our purpose is to see that St. John’s Lutheran Church achieve appropriate results for the appropriate people at an appropriate cost, and to avoid unacceptable actions and situations.

The board commits itself and its members to ethical, businesslike, and lawful conduct, including proper use of authority, and appropriate Christian decorum, and behavior. Board members must have loyalty to the congregational membership, not conflicted by preferences to staff, other organizations, and any personal interest. We commit to meeting together once a month for 2-3 hours. In addition to the regular meeting, some additional work hours are required for special projects, liaison meetings, and congregational linkage.
