St. John’s West Bend’s retreat ministry is an opportunity for men, women, and couples to experience God’s gift of restoration through His Word, fun activities, and the people of God in life together. St. John’s offers three adult retreats throughout the calendar year. Our retreats seek to balance the time in Bible study and worship as well as in recreation and activity. Each retreat gives ample opportunity for participants to benefit from applicable teaching and impactful connections made throughout the weekend.
REGISTER FOR MEN’S DAY 2026!
Time in the Word. Chili Cookoff and all the sides. Fellowship with Brothers in Christ. Fire Pit. Beverages. Cornhole. Other Shenanigans.
What do all of these things have in common? I don’t know, but it sounds compelling. Or it’s what we will have for our Men’s Day on May 16.
We’ll gather Saturday afternoon (starting at 2:00 PM) and spend time in God’s word together (bring your Bibles!), partake in several types of chili (you can be a contestant—glorious prizes await the winner!) spend time with your brothers in Christ and be competitive while playing Cornhole…or just give each other some ribbing as a spectator.
Our speaker this year will be Pastor Steve Smith—Pastor Smith recently retired after serving the Concordia Wisconsin Campus Community as Campus Pastor—He’ll be bringing us God’s word and teaching under the theme, Firm Foundation, based on Matthew 7:24.
Registration includes a T- Shirt, a whole bunch of chili and costs $25. Sign up before May 6.

COUPLES RETREAT
Marriage is the Lord’s building block of the family from the beginning (Matt. 19:4-6), and St. John’s is committed to investing in marriages through the Couples’ Retreat Ministry. Each year married couples are invited to a fine resort for a weekend of social events/fellowship with other couples, to escape the business of life and re-connect as a couple, and to learn and grow together in God’s word in a relaxed, relational, and real way. This retreat fits most budgets (grants are available to those in need) and is really fun.
The Couples’ Retreat is led by a dedicated committee who loves to serve in this important retreat ministry. Join us and be blessed by God through His word and His people while exploring God’s creation, fine shops, and amazing restaurants.

WOMEN’S RETREAT
St. John’s West Bend Women's Retreat is a weekend getaway for all women (high school and up) in late September at The Green Lake Conference Center. Our retreat provides women the opportunity to get away for a time of fellowship together around God’s Word in speaker-led sessions, worship, and free time activities. This is not just a weekend long Bible Study, but a topic-led time for women to grow and connect together in Christ. It’s truly an experience you won’t find anywhere else!
This retreat is for you, your friends and family, members of St. John’s or not. There is a special discount for young women in high school through age 21, and scholarship opportunities for those who need it. Don’t let finances keep you from experiencing what the Lord has to offer you that weekend. Don’t let the busyness of the world we live in keep you from experiencing the blessings God has to offer you at this weekend away.
